Stella McCartney and Gap to Collaborate on a Kids' Line

Today Gap Inc. announced that they have a deal with fashion designer Stella McCartney to create one-off collections for GapKids and babyGap. The collection will come out later this year and will be in select GapKids and babyGap stores in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Ireland and Japan. The line will also be available online in the U.S. This is McCartney's first boys and girls collection.

According to WWD:
“For years I’ve wanted to create a collection for kids,” McCartney stated. “It’s something I’ve often been asked about. I believe that this one-off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney brand. I believe that kids’ clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment, given the current climate.”

I've seen pictures and oogled over Stella McCartney's clothing and the designer eco-conscious awareness is something that really makes me wish I can afford her clothing. Having never designed for kids, I am partially excited to see what she will come up with. We all know that Gap, as a whole, has been undergoing some major changes (mostly because of Patrick Robinson).

I have a 4 year old godson, who I'm always buying clothes for, so there's no doubt that my little prince will be rockin' some Stella McCartney for GapKids. He'll be the flyest kid in pre-kindergarten. What say you? Are we going to spoil them silly? Or is it not worth it? Leave it in the comments!
