The Fashion Show Week 8 and Get the Look!

Oooooh giiirrllll

This week could have possibly been my favorite episode to date! There are only seven designers left and the judges are not playing around anymore! This week’s episode was a test of skill and knowledge. The Harper's Bazaar mini challenge for the week tested the designer's knowledge of fashion history. They were quizzed on seven muy importante designers and the weird thing was I knew all but one of the answers (hey, I'm not big on Pucci ok.. ha) while Reco..sweet sweet Reco...didn't know who Halston was. I know!!! How are you a fashion designer and you don't know who HALSTON was. smh

Schoolteacher Anna won and got to pick a legendary designer for each contestant to recreate while at the same timekeeping their own mark on the garment.

dun dun dun

At eliminations, Haven and Reco found themselves in the bottom two. I was a mess...I'm rootin' for Reco! Reco's ignorance of not knowing who Halston was could have cost him the competition. The only thing he got right about his design was the color (red).

Please note kids: Halston did NOT do corsets.

Haven, on the other hand, had a strong grasp of Yves Saint Laurent’s history but judges found her brown suit lacking in inspiration. And that sent her packing.

The audience absolutely adored Daniella’s Christian Dior-inspired pantsuit but it was Johnny’s show-stopping Versace-esque dress (left) that stole guest judge Peter Som’s heart. Judges praised Johnny on creating a flawless look from the polished pony to the gold stilettos and named him the challenge winner. I say kudos to the matte pink lipstick!

As always...onto the 'do! TRESemmé has really been doin' it up this season on The Fashion Show. The hairstyles for each model works beautifully with the outfits. No doubt the sleek high ponytail made the dress look that more edgy.

• Apply TRESemmé Thermal Creations Straightening Gel to wet hair, and
blow dry using a flat brush.

• Lightly spray dried hair with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray, and flat iron.

• Make a side part. Take a triangle section from the front part and clip to the side.

• Pull back remaining hair into a sleek ponytail right below the crown. Secure with elastic.

• Release triangle section and create a side sweep, brushing along the front hairline. Secure remaining hair with a pin, and hold with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray.
