Supermodels, Part 1

In the May 2007 issue of Vogue, I saw what I have been dying to see for a long time now: models on the cover of an American magazine. One particular model that got a lot of attention was little miss Doutzen Kroes. This stunning beauty caught everyone's eye as a Calvin Klein model ("Eternity" fragrance campaign: August 2005) and Victoria's Secret catalog model and in the 2005 and 2006 fashion show. I just wanted to write about her because I was watching the 2006 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She really caught my eye: she looks like she can be sexy but adorable.

Ok, from the moment i saw them I couldn't help but think "What would make someone wear such a thing?". Not long after you a see almost everyone in New York City walking around in them...ewww? isn't New York supposed to be one of the fashion capitals of the world? Come on people...you should be ashamed of yourself. In case you haven't caught on by now, I am talking about the hideous shoes known as Crocs. no offense to those who are addicted to their Crocs, but seriously...why do you wear it. First of all they look quite ugly. The website lists some reasons as to why one would want to wear them, but I have reasons why you shouldn't:
Their reason why you should wear them:

1.) Really soft, super comfortable, molds to your feet
2.) Barely there, weighing only 6 ounces
3.) Vented so air passes through, keeping feet cool
4.) Non-marking slip-resistant soles
5.) Bacteria and odor resistant
6.) Ultra-hip Italian styling
7.) Port holes allow water and sand to pass through
8.) Can be sterilized in water and bleach
9.) Easy maintenance, just wipe clean
10.) Orthotic molded foot bed for ultimate comfort and support

My reasons why you SHOULDN'T wear them:

1.) You want comfort...get flip flops
2.)...see number 1
3.) flip flops don't cover your feet at all, therefore, your feet can breathe
4.) you want slip resistant shoes..ladies get slingbacks (the strap will hold your bad boys in)...men: sneakers always work...Vans are big this year..slip 'em on and your ok
5.) bacteria and odor resistant: bleach and odor eaters
6.) ultra hip? Italian styling?...right...
7.) FLIP FLOPS!!!
8.) ANYTHING can be sterilized in water and bleach
9.) you can do that with good old sandals
10.) that's just them using big words to repeat numero uno...

So what exactly is my point...these Crocs are just another way to rob people out of their money...flip flops have been around for years. Go to Old navy and you can get them $2.00 each, rather then dishing out the big bucks for something hideous.

About Me

My name is Eileen and I'm the blogger behind MissWhoever You Are.
"You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-You-Are? You're chicken. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, 'Okay, life's a fact.' People DO fall in love. People do belong to each other. Because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." - Breakfast at Tiffany's
This quote stuck with me for some odd reason...combine that with the immense amount of free time I had that day I decided to start this dear old blog. The internet has the amazing ability to connect people with interests such as mine and I've discovered that mainly through blogging. It is amazing to interact with readers and fellow blog editors everyday with each new post.
