Christopher Kane for NARS Summer 2015 Collection

nars christopher kaneFor Summer 2015, NARS partnered with designer Christopher Kane to create – NEONEUTRAL, a limited edition collection of unexpected shades and formulas inspired by the nature of neon and the nude shades that complement them. The collection features a ten, limited edition products. There’s something for everyone as it’s a full line of eyeshadows, blushes, multiples and lip glosses.
nars christopher kane reviewI received samples of two products: Outer Limits Single Eyeshadow and Quantum Illuminating Multiple.
nars christopher kane eyeshadowOuter Limits Single Eyeshadow ($25) is an iridescent rose gold with flecks of pink and gold sparkle. It has a soft texture, so soft that it tends to fall apart or break apart when applied. There is a lot of fall out so this is when I’d recommend applying your eye makeup BEFORE foundation. When it’s applied dry I notice that it’s hard to blend but if you spray your brush with a bit of Fix+ it’s much easier to apply. Also it’s best when patted versus swiped across the lid.

The Quantum Illuminating Multiple ($39) is a sheer iridescent magenta that’s exclusive to NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com. I rarely (never) wear or use NARS multiples because I much prefer powder on my cheeks but this is one shade that I absolutely HAD to have.

It’s quite sheer but easily buildable if you’re looking for a more intense shade. When first applied, I noticed how dry the formula was but a bit velvety. I would use this solely as a blush. Although multiples can be used on cheeks and lips but this formula isn’t one that would perform well on your lips.

The collection is available at NARSCosmetics.com and NARS boutiques now, then at department and specialty stores on May 1, 2015. I definitely have my eye on the Starscape blush because it’s just so intense that you’d be a fool ot to get it if you have a deeper skin tone (plus if you’ve seen my top blushes video you’ll know I can’t say no to a hot pink blush).

it seems pretty popular to use different brands nowadays, one for eyes, and another brand for foundation, and often another for makeup..
