Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder and Setting Spray by Face Studio ($9.99 and $12.99, respectively) are new, permanent products launching with the Maybelline Spring 2016 Collection.
The Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder is a lightweight, translucent setting powder made to set makeup in place. If you’ve followed me for some time now, you’ll know that I fell head over heels over Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder so the thought of finding a drugstore (read: affordable) equivalent got me excited. This makeup setting powder is pure white which initially scared me because I’ve seen some horrible things happen when the flash of a camera goes off. It has a matte finish and no visible sparkle or shimmer making it good for all over the face.

That said, I’ll be sticking to my Laura Mercier. Why you ask? Because I’ve seen some horrible things happen when the flash of a camera goes off.
I will try to give this another go by lightly dusting it over my face instead of “baking” or setting my under eye area but to be honest, I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle. If you’re fair skin, this may be okay for you. Regarding the setting spray it’s the same thing as the L’Oreal Infallible spray. I haven’t noticed a HUGE difference with my makeup lasting all day. It is cooling and doesn’t leave my face feeling oily or slick, so it’s a good spray to use daily. Good but not great. That said, I much prefer my Urban Decay All Nighter or Model in a Bottle because those bad boys do not budge!
With all of these drugstore releases it’s hard to keep up! I feel like every time I sneeze, Maybelline is releasing a new foundation. I truly do like most of them so I rarely hesitate to pick one up whenever they come out with a new launch. The new Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation is described as a soft-matte hydrating foundation, which is an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

I decided to take it for a spin and do a first impression of the shade Coconut (95), the default shade of dark skin girls everywhere in the world of Maybelline. Watch to see how it turned out!

I laughed a bit when I saw this and have yet to muster up the energy to use it. It’s like a super firm beauty blender with a handle. While the Beauty Blender (and most beauty sponges) are soft, this is quite firm. According to some on YouTube it’s a neat little tool but as someone who owns A LOT of brushes, I’ll pass. If you’re just starting out with makeup and aren’t looking to spend a lot of money, you can pick this up but I’d recommend the Real Technique sponge instead.
The Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation ($10.99) and Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge ($5.99) are available in drugstores and Ulta this month.

Maybelline has extended their wildly popular Color Tattoo line into jumbo shadow pencils! I’m a fan of the Color Tattoos because they’re crazy pigmented and offer a long-wear eye look for drugstore prices. The release of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon is part of the Spring 2016 collection, available in drugstores January 2016.
Richly pigmented, ultra creamy and packaged in a convenient stick format, the new Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayons are for people like me who hate products in pots but want the lasting power. Honestly, if you were already a fan of the original Color Tattoo eyeshadows, you’re going to love this one.
There are ten (10) shimmery shades (no mattes) in total and I haven’t experienced any issues with creasing, something I usually run into with many stick shadow formulas.
L-R: Barely Beige, Pink Parfait, Bronze Truffle, Lilac Lust, Lavish Lavender, Creamy Chocolate, Audacious Asphalt, Grey Crystal, Gold Rush, Charcoal Chrome

The Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayons are available now via Ulta for $6.99. Full availablity in drugstores in this month.
Happy New Year!! Wanted to kick off the year with a review and swatches of the NEW Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip products.
I was pretty excited about the release of Maybelline’s Vivid Matte Liquid lip color because I could have sworn they were liquid lipsticks. Apparently not. Watch for the full review!

These are new to drugstores and are currently available at Ulta.com for $7.99.
