The Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder is a lightweight, translucent setting powder made to set makeup in place. If you’ve followed me for some time now, you’ll know that I fell head over heels over Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder so the thought of finding a drugstore (read: affordable) equivalent got me excited. This makeup setting powder is pure white which initially scared me because I’ve seen some horrible things happen when the flash of a camera goes off. It has a matte finish and no visible sparkle or shimmer making it good for all over the face.
That said, I’ll be sticking to my Laura Mercier. Why you ask? Because I’ve seen some horrible things happen when the flash of a camera goes off.
I will try to give this another go by lightly dusting it over my face instead of “baking” or setting my under eye area but to be honest, I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle. If you’re fair skin, this may be okay for you. Regarding the setting spray it’s the same thing as the L’Oreal Infallible spray. I haven’t noticed a HUGE difference with my makeup lasting all day. It is cooling and doesn’t leave my face feeling oily or slick, so it’s a good spray to use daily. Good but not great. That said, I much prefer my Urban Decay All Nighter or Model in a Bottle because those bad boys do not budge!
I have to try this! I love Maybelline so I always want to try their new products!
