When my eye allergy sent me to the doctor a few months back, I became weary of everything in my beauty closet so off I went in search of new products. While I normally use my regular cleansers and masks with my Mia, I threw caution to the wind when I read that this set reduces pore appearance by 25% after just one use, and after 93% of users saw increased skin clarity after THREE days.
The Mia 2 features two speeds, a one-minute pulsing timer to let you know how long you should be using the system for, and a protective travel case making traveling with the system a breeze (I use the case to store it when it’s not in use). I’ve been using the Acne Clarifying brush head religiously because I am acne prone but I did notice that the cleanser that came with it dried out my face and I was more concerned about oily skin during the summer versus acne. I don’t have severe acne and the system is good for handling a breakout here and there.
The Deep Pore Cleansing brush head is firmer than the Acne Clarifying (which is meant for sensitive skin) but I’m convinced it’s the one for me since it’s ideal for cleansing oily skin - something I’ve lamented about on this blog before. Gentle enough for daily use, I felt like my skin was really clean after one use (removed A LOT of makeup that I tend to wear during the week). While it took about seven days for me to see best results, I definitely recommend using the Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask one to two times a week for best results. It doesn’t leave my face feeling tight, itchy, or dry and is one of the few masks I’ve been using weekly. I did notice that I broke out on my chin after using this which was a bit odd as I never break out after using a Clarisonic but it was gone after two days so no harm, no foul. Overall, I’ve come to be addicted (as usual) with this and have swapped this as part of my everyday routine. I use it morning and night since my skin isn’t sensitive and it does not irritate me at all.

Last weekend, I made my usual trip to the hair salon armed with a few new products to test out. Having cut my hair short (and then shorter on Monday!) I’m faced with the issue of constant new growth. The Straight Finish™ Cleanser ($6.99) gently cleanses, softens and is formulated with a blend of Shea Butter, Soy Bean Oil and Keratin Protein. The cleanser was pretty rich and lathered up quickly. Next up is the Leave-In Conditioner ($6.99) which I loved and applied right before blow drying. Since my hair is short, I had my stylist use a small amount concentrating on areas with new growth. Blow drying was a breeze and the Sealer ($6.99) was applied to the completely dry hair. The result was super shiny hair with actual body. Typically when I get my hair done, it looks a bit dry and I’m faced with the problem of whether or not I should apply MORE product. To celebrate their newest fragrance, I’ve partnered up with Coach to share what I “heart” the most and their newest campaign.
While I love many things and people in my life, nothing stands out as much as my love of Haiti (the MOTHER COUNTRY!). I’ve spoken about it before but my parents come from Haiti and having been raised there, I feel a deep connection. There’s such a rich history and culture - whether you’re talking about music (Kompa), movies (Jesifra is probably one of the funniest characters of all time), or the way they dress - it’s truly fascinating. While the country is (still) having a rough time getting back on its feet, I still jump at the chance to visit and see my family, feel the Caribbean sun, and lounge around drinking actual coconut water.
Now onto the new fragrance by legacy luxury company, Coach. Coach Love is described as a “feminine floral with warm, sensual woody undertones,” meant to capture modern love in a bottle. It opens up with sparkling notes (mandarin, dewberry, green violet, freesia) and transitions into a playful floral with magnolia, jasmine and gardenia at the heart of the fragrance. The dry down is warm and seductive with notes of patchouli, sandalwood and musk among some of the notes.
