I was having a conversation with a friend the other day laughing (crying?) about the “bounce back.” Remember how you could easily bounce back from anything when you were younger? Too many drinks the night before? No problem. A dude ghosted on you? Pshh…whatever, there’s another one around the corner. A pimple popped up? It’ll be gone in the morning.
The minute I hit my late twenties, I feel like bouncing back is much harder. I need a full weekend to recover after going out at night and I sure as hell need an arsenal of skincare products to deal with breakouts. I’ve now gotten to the point where I’m noticing lines on my face that didn’t exist just a few short years ago.
Not to sound bleak, but damn. Can I live?
When Vida Glow reached out to me I was skeptical yet intrigued. The beauty girl in me tries almost anything once (twice if I like it). Vida Glow is a soluble powder that can be mixed into your fave drink (hot or cold!) or food.
HOW SWAY?
Collagen. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and is what holds the body together. It can be found in bones, muscles, skin and tendons. As you age, collagen production declines and leads to sagging skin, lines, and wrinkles. Fun stuff to look forward to!
Just a casual reminder mid blog post that I am not a nutritionist or doctor of any kind; all the information that I have provided are either on Vida Glow’s website or the internet.
OKAY, SERIOUSLY BUT WHAT DOES VIDA GLOW HAVE TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS?
Vida Glow is a 100% Natural Marine Collagen Supplement. The marine collagen found in Vida Glow is extracted from the scale of salt-water fish and works from within to promote increasing the body’s natural production of collagen. Vida Glow promises to assist in hydrating your skin, giving a clearer and smoother complexion, fewer lines and wrinkles, and reducing sun damage among other things.
HOW DOES IT TASTE?
Like nothing. I just started taking the Vida Glow Original and was surprised there wasn’t a taste. Most supplements I’ve taken always have an odd taste whether it’s fishy or greasy or even chemically. I will say that after burping (TMI?) there was a slight after taste but that only lasted about five minutes.
HOW DO I TAKE IT?
Take one sachet and pour it into your food or drink and stir. I mixed it with my green juice (apple, kale, lemon, and watermelon) and let the powder fully dissolve to avoid any clumping. (No side effects after taking it!)
DOES IT WORK?
Since I just started taking it, I can’t comment on any of the above. I plan on taking it for 4-6 weeks to see how my skin and hair looks. FYI, 4-6 weeks is typically how long it takes to see results in topical skincare products!
If you’re someone who prefers having a something with flavor, there are four other flavors plus one called a Beauty Blend which is obviously on my wish list.
I’m excited to review this and use up all of the sachets inside in order to report back! I’ve been breaking out like crazy and my skin has been looking pretty dull/ lackluster overall. This came just at the right time. I have plenty of beauty supplements at home (again willing to try anything in the name of beauty) BUT most of them are HUGE capsules that I just don’t want to swallow. I’m a child.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
There are three different tiers depending on what you’re looking for. The “Gratitude” set ($44.95) comes with 30 sachets that I consider the entry level version. Take one sachet a day and you’re good. The “Prosperity” set ($79.90) comes with 60 sachets that you take twice a day. Lastly, there’s the “Love” set ($109.95) that comes with 90 sachets and you take it three times a day.
For more information or to purchase, visit Vida Glow’s website. Definitely read through their FAQ to learn more if you’re nervous. I’ll try to do an updated post when my container runs out of sachets, which is a month. Wish me (and my bounce back) luck!
