Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector $34
Available in six shades, the new Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is an oil-free, hybrid complexion cream that promises to blur imperfections and even out skintone for a result that looks natural. It gives you sheer coverage and it’s a great lightweight tinted moisturizer that’s ideal for warm weather wear.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Heartless $20
The ever popular 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil gets a new shade addition with Heartless, a light frosted pink shade that can be used to highlight the inner corner for fairer skin.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter$26
THIS IS A MUST HAVE ITEM! The powders are so finely milled that they apply like straight up butter. Available in three shades, these can either be used as highlighters or blushes depending on your skin tone. Only two are pictured above but see swatches are below

  • Aura (iridescent light pink)
  • Sin (champagne)
  • Fireball (peach with pink shift)

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer $28
Yes, the powder is super-soft. Yes, they are matte. Yes, they’re gorgeous. But “universally wearable?” Maybe if the universe didn’t have dark skin women 😒. As a woman with deep skin (I’m usually either a NW45 or NW50 in MAC for reference) this wasn’t truly a bronzer, rather a setting powder. They do run a bit warm so be warned if you have fair skin as it can seem a bit orange.

Urban Decay Walk of Shame 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil $20
Another new shade being added to a permanent product! Walk of Shame is a nude hue that can be worn on the waterline to create a brighter more wide awake appearance.

Wee! I’m back with a video (finally). Work has been CRAZY (I started working for The Estée Edit) (I’ve gone corporate). Needless to say there are quite a few Edit products here but it’s not a sponsored video. This is the makeup I do every day. A little smoky action. Bold lip.

Disclosure: Some links above are affiliate links. I work for The Estée Edit but that does not impact what products I choose to feature. I only recommend products I love and I’m not rewarded financially by my employer to promote products on my channel.

As much as I love make up (and y’all know I do), skincare has always been my first love. Ever since my first taste of doing research for Lancôme’s Genifique range in the corporate world, I became interested in the ingredients that go into each skincare product created. There are so many cool technologies being developed in the skincare world that it’s exciting but hard to keep up with what is cool and what is…not. When the Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream ($65) landed on my doorstep, I was excited because I love Sunday Riley skincare.
Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream is a lightweight, oil-free formula that promises to brighten and illuminate while providing up to 24 hours of moisture for a youthful, plump appearance. The best part is that they promise it’s for ALL skin types. Call me a skeptic but HOW, SWAY?

Well, Tidal offers two forms of hyaluronic acid for a more youthful, hydrated look as well as papaya enzymes to smooth and exfoliate. Also part of the formula are alpha-arbutin and exotic floral extracts that work to brighten hyperpigmentation spots and illuminate the complexion.

I’m excited to try this as well as their Luna Sleeping Night Oil once my ANR serum is over. If Claire likes it, I need it 😉

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream is available at Sephora now.

Disclosure: I received this as a sample for editorial consideration. Will report back on my experience in a few weeks.

Look, there are some products that are a hit the minute you try it and the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30 is one of them. nars velvet matte skin tint
The NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($44) is an oil-free skin tint that actually surprised me after wearing after two or three days. I’m a full coverage foundation kind of girl. I like the spackle. When I saw the work “skin tint” I thought of it as a lightweight, barely there, why would you buy this stuff.

At first NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint reminded me of another superstar product by the brand: Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Pure Radiant has become a summer staple for me because it provides necessary coverage without leaving my skin heavy, cakey, or just plain gross. Both products are lightweight yet buildable. Both leave skin breathable. Both leave skin looking gorgeous. Where they differ, however, is Pure Radiant leaves skin looking just that: radiant. There was a slight dewy look whereas Velvet Matte left skin matte (not flat). I wear the shade Polynesia in both. I’ve applied it with both a Beauty Blender and a makeup brush and both times the results have been beautifu I don’t have any issues with it oxidizing though I’ve read reviews where its happened to some people.

This has definitely become one of those no makeup makeup items for me. It’s great for days where I want a bit of coverage but nothing too excessive. NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint is available now at Sephora and NARS boutiques.

A couple of years ago…wayyyy back when, NYX Cosmetics was pretty hard to find. I remember trying to track down their Jumbo Pencil in Milk because every single YouTuber raved about it and used it as a base for intense eye makeup looks. I would scour the internet and random beauty supply stores that carried pro products and hoard the jumbo pencils and blushes. The colors! The pigments! The price! It was all so good I spent days trying to track down some product.

My how things have changed! Just last month, I had the chance to attend the opening of the new NYX Willowbrook store location—their first East Coast location and fifth opening in the US (they have four store locations in California). Globally, NYX has opened stores in Canada, France, Italy and Spain.

NYX Willowbrook is not only a beauty girl’s dream come true but it’s for the beauty girl who lives on Instagram, stalks YouTube, and loves a good haul (without breaking the bank). Everywhere you look in the store you can touch and play. Interactive screens show you tutorials from some of your favorite beauty gurus (heyy Sonjdradeluxe!)

At the NYX Beauty Bar you can choose from a number of different on trend tutorials (think: strobing) and then re-create those looks using the iPads in front of you. At the NYX Shadow Bar you have the option to create your own custom palettes in store; meanwhile the NYX Lip Bar lets you pick from among NYX’s most beloved lip colors in a variety of formula options. It’s a beauty lovers playground!

If you’re nearby I highly recommend checking out the NYX Willowbrook location (or any of their West Coast stores!). Just make sure you don’t have any plans after since I guarantee you’ll spend some time mixing, matching, swatching, oohhing and aahing. Additional openings are planned throughout 2016, with stores in the Southeast and Midwest scheduled in the next few months (here’s looking at you Tyson’s Corner and Mall of America).
