When I think of the word “clean,” my mind automatically thinks of a soapy concoction that I like but wouldn’t want to necessarily smell like throughout the day. I want to be remembered as sultry, sexy or even flirtatious when I leave the room. This explains my deep and affectionate love of all scents woodsy, musky or floral (but not yo momma’s kinda flowers).
Well, CLEAN, the beauty brand known for its crisp scents has gotten me in love with one of their newest scents, Cotton T-Shirt Eau de Parfum ($69). Awkward name aside (cotton T shirt??), I am enamored with their newest addition to the permanent CLEAN fragrance line.
Cotton T-Shirt Eau de Parfum is described as a “fresh, crisp and easy to wear airy scent that is inspired by the universally loveable freshly laundered tee”. Like your favorite cotton tee, this scent can be worn practically any time of day (I paricularly love spritzing this before bed). Light and airy, with notes of Cotton Flower, this scent leaves you feeling fresh (not soapy!) and has hints of Bergamot that envelopes you into a territory that is not overbearing and completely yummy.
What it reminds me of, oddly enough, is a man’s cologne. Nothing heavy but something I can see my imaginary boyfriend wearing. There’s a nostalgic scent, as if I’ve smelled it before but can’t quite put my finger on it.
The drydown consists of Rosewood and Warm Musk and I believe this is where the boyfriend scent comes in. Something that’s not too heavy, like your man’s favorite cotton tee shirt with hints of his cologne worn after a few days. It makes a great weekend summer scent, perfect for running errands, heading off to brunch or taking trips around the city in boyfriend jeans and, yes, a cotton tee.
